Assoc. Prof. Lei Deng School of Energy and Power Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, China | Experience: Earned his Ph.D. degree in 2013 at Department of Thermal Engineering, School of Energy and Power Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. Since 2013 he has been working at the same department in Xi'an Jiaotong University. From May, 2014 to May, 2015, he worked at Cornell University, USA as a visiting scholar. His research interests include thermal conversion and utilization of biomass, combustion of fossil fuels and pollutant emission control, boiler and heat exchanger design, and comprehensive utilization of low-grade heat energy. He has been funded by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key Technology Research and Development Program of China, the Postdoctoral Research Project of Shaanxi Province, and Shaanxi Province Nature Science Foundation for several projects. He has also cooperated with many companies. He has published more than 70 scientific papers, including papers in leading international journals, with h-index of 12 and over 430 citations/380 heterocitations (Web of Science). He acts as a reviewer in a number of international scientific journals, including Energy, Applied Energy, Fuel, Applied Thermal Engineering, Energy & Fuels, Journal of Hazardous Materials, International Journal of Energy Research. Assoc. Prof. Xiaojun Shi School of Mechanical Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University, China | Experience: Dr. Shi received the Ph. D. degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University in March 2010. He is currently an associate professor in Mechanical Engineering of Xi’an Jiaotong University. His research interests include thermal optimization of electromechanical systems and intelligent robot control. He has undertaken a number of projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, National key research and development projects of China and key research and development projects of Shaanxi Province. He has published about 60 peer-reviewed journal papers, which have been broadly cited. The project "Intelligent Monitoring and Reliability Technology of Typical Electromechanical Equipment" won the second prize of Shaanxi Province Technological Invention in 2019. Research Area: 1. Assoc. Prof. Zhenpeng Qin Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Texas at Dallas, USA | Experience: Zhenpeng Qin is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering at the University of Texas at Dallas, a founding member of the Center for Advanced Pain Studies, and an adjunct faculty of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Qin lab focuses on developing new nanotechnologies to better understand and treat diseases in the nervous system, and develop highly sensitive and multiplexed methods for infectious disease diagnostics. Dr. Qin has received numerous awards including NIH MIRA/R35 award for early-stage investigators for his pioneering work on the development of molecular hyperthermia for optical control of protein activity, CDMRP Discovery Award, CPRIT Individual Research Award, Collaborative Sciences Award and Research Leaders Academy from American Heart Association (AHA), and Faculty Research Award from UT Dallas Jonsson School.
